With her personal highlights so far including getting hand-picked by Snoop Dogg to join him on stage during the YouTube Brandcast in May 2013 Niykee is able to maintain her songwriting regimen despite the hectic recent years. A producer magnet Niykee has a constant eye on the many beats that are being sent to her. She has found that the majority of them spark new music ideas. I'll know if a beat's excellent after just five seconds. Then I'll get a song in my head and start creating right away, she adds. I go out to my back porch with my guitar and the words just come and usually it's all done in under thirty minutes. Niykee's pain from her past can be a constant source of inspiratation as she progresses as a writer. "Even when I don't write about my personal life it is the loss of my sister and my painful childhood are incorporated in my lyrics," she says. This influences my music and builds this deeper significance behind everything that is an important thing for me. I want to be able to say that I could hear any of my songs 20 years down the road and be happy with what I said.
