AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, plays as a striker in the San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) which is the highest division of women's soccer in the United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 until 2020 along with Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. [8][98][9] Morgan was drafted by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley in the early part of the year. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. She made her professional debut and was a part of the team's success in winning the league championship. Morgan was just 22 at the time was the youngest player on the national team in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, in which the team finished second. At the 2012 London Olympics, she scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final against Canada. She ended 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists, joining Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and give 20 assists in the same calendar year and she became the sixth and the sixth U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year Morgan was also an FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan played a key role in the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and 2019. Morgan was named to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
